Jonathan’s “preparation” turned into more of a celebration with close family and friends at his Father’s place. Maria began the day at her place also with close family, just a short ride to the ceremony at St Charles Borromeo in Bensenville. It didn’t take long for it to become an emotional ceremony as tears began pouring as soon as the bride walks down the isle.

Being that it’s Chicago and it’s December, it was certainly a challenge to find good photo spots. But Maria came up with an excellent plan of securing an hour at the Mayslake Peabody Estate which was also conveniently in Oak Brook, just a short drive to the reception venue at Drury Lane Theatre in Oak Brook Terrace. Chicago weather delivered and it was icy and painfully cold outside. So we ended up indoors but had a ton of fun exploring and taking photos inside Mayslake Peabody Estate. It forced us to be creative and also made for some dramatic backdrops. We have to give all the credit to Maria for coming up with this idea!

Some cool & fun details… The kids out-muscled the adults during the garter toss, there’s a few must-see photos. The guys wore Mickey cuff links. The guests were treated to a something different on the dancefloor, a piano duel Felix And Fingers, not your typical band or DJ! See more details on our FB Page!

Congratulations Maria & Jonathan! We know the experience in finding the right photographer was hard so we appreciate you taking a chance in LOP!

Final wedding of the season and we’re finishing it off at the amazing Armour House in Lake Forest. But best of all, we’re in the company of familiar faces & great people! One week ago, Chicago weather was so warm that we actually had some expectations that this could be an outdoor wedding in November. But of course, this is Chicago so things change in just days. We woke up to a blizzard that kept the wedding festivities inside for most of the day. But this wedding was nothing short of a huge celebration! We tried to fight the snow, having their first look outdoors. And the wedding party were troopers as we trekked through the blizzard to get the signature Armour House picture. Our efforts gave us some great winter snow photos for a brief moment, but we surrendered and spent the rest of the day indoors.

Some cool details… Lindsey carried her dad with her on her bouquet with the words “walk with me dad.” Lindsey gifted Anthony with a pocket watch and movado wrist watch. Groomsmen had fun matching socks but Anthony wore a special pair gifted to him by his mom. Candle decor lit up the ceremony which was a perfect décor for the dining room. They had signature drinks, one was the old fashioned. There was a surprise flash mob dance from the bridesmaids which set the tone for the rest of the party. The night ended with a sparkler send off. So much more to show! See all the highlights on our Facebook Page.

Congratulations Lindsey & Anthony! While we had some weather challenges, your wedding was certainly a fun celebration filled with warm people to fight off the blizzard. Thanks for having us back and hoping to see everyone again soon!

Who doesn’t like an icy beach! Lori & Colm’s engagement session was postponed about 4 times because of the so called polar vortex but we finally managed to land a sunny warm winter weekend! The left over ice added a spectacular backdrop which made their photos much more unique. It was an adventure getting to that spot, falling into several ice/sand pits that looked stable at the time, but it was well worth the trouble. We ended the shoot in Lincoln Park. It was important to get a skyline shot to create some photo contrast to their wedding day which will be in St Charles. Looking forward to seeing you guys again in August! Thanks for toughing out the icy engagement session!

One of our secret obsession is a night-time shoot with snow falling in the background. It’s so difficult to snag one of these momemts as most engagement sessions are scheduled based on availability, not weather. But luck is what we had on this day. I was secretly hoping for snow on the way to the shoot and the weather gods blessed us with the right amount of snowfall during the shoot, just enough to light up the images. We were super excited! Of course, Raquel & John had to brave the cold but it was well worth it. They also brought some cool jars with their wedding date painted on them for their save-the-date cards. These two truly admire each other as if no one else exist around them, they are truly made for each other. Their wedding photos are going to turn up some great moments captured. See you guys in the fall!

It’s February. It’s Chicago. And 2014 happens to be the 3rd snowiest winter in Chicago history and also the coldest. But all we can remember is Jessica smiling all day and Tim admiring his new bride.

The wedding day began at JW Marriott Chicago with an intimate “first look” inside the hotel. Thanks Dennis Lee for finding the perfect spot. Jessica wanted a quiet private spot while we wanted the room to be “photo-friendly”. The ceremony and reception was held at the most colorful venue in Chicago, Carnivale.

Some cool details… She had an absolutely gorgeous dress, truly unique, sexy, and classy all in one! They were married by a best friend. “Uncle Tim Here Comes Your Bride” sign was a cute twist. But you can’t get any more unique than their venue, Carnivale. Full of eye candy and color. Not to mention great food which I’m sure all the guests enjoyed.

Yes, the weather was very “Chicago”. But we can tell by the photos that mission was accomplished. Family and guests enjoyed the ceremony, venue, dinner, and the company while the bride and groom were all smiles at each other throughout the day and evening.

We have to thank some fantastic vendors for making the day run smooth. Mary Beth Kraft was an easy going planner that got the job done. The cute cake was by Swirlz Cupcakes. Flowers provided be Asria Garden. Michelle is very “snobish” when it comes to DJ’s and when she actually commented on how she enjoyed the music, then you know it was truly good music. Make sure you consider Monastero Entertainment when it’s time to find entertainment for your event.

Congratulations Jessica and Tim!
