Nicole & Matt had an early start to their wedding day due to a 1pm ceremony. But that only meant more time for photos! As we certainly needed the time to dodge the indecisive rain throughout the day. Both got ready at the gorgeous LondonHouse right next to the Chicago River in the heart of the Magnificent Mile. This hotel has one of the best views in Chicago, hands down. After some final touches and gift exchanges, we boarded a classic Chicago trolley and headed for the ceremony to Holy Name Cathedral, the seat of the Archdiocese of Chicago and also one of the most breathtaking churches in the country.

The rain kept coming at us for each photo stop but we managed to get a few shots before Nicole’s dress would get drenched. Our photo safari took us to Wrigley Field, Sully’s House, the iconic Chicago Riverwalk, and of course our favorite stop of the day, the rooftop at LondonHouse. This rooftop gives a very different perspective of the Chicago skyline, one you don’t normally see on postcards. So it was certainly a treat to experience. The celebration continued at LondonHouse with the dancefloor in full energy all night! Thanks to our friends at David Rothstein Music. We snuck out for a few minutes to get some night time photos over the Michigan Ave bridge. It was still raining but the photos were certainly worth getting wet.

Some cool & fun details… We had a bit of a rough start. We were on the north side of the river while The Rock was shooting his new movie Rampage with rolling closures on Wacker drive. We couldn’t make it across the river for a while but we still made it on time. The photo stop at Sully’s House was certainly not the average stop but this spot was special to the bride & groom as they knew everyone there by first names with some staff members attending the reception. So it was certainly a fitting place to stop by. David Rothstein Music actually gave the couple a set of Sully’s House branded Bean Bag Toss. Aside from the view of the reception venue, Nicole’s dress is definitely the details highlight of the day. They were made for each other! See more details on our See more highlights on our FB Page!

Congratulations Nicole & Matt! The rain chased us around and out of every location all day but it was still bright with energy and celebration. Thank you for letting us tag along on your super fun downtown wedding day!

We’ve been with Ashley & Jimmy from the very beginning when Jimmy proposed to Ashley. So this wedding was especially fun for us to experience. Their day began at aLoft in Chicago’s River North neighborhood. The day didn’t start off too promising as a thunderstorm darkened downtown as we arrived at the hotel. But in an instant as Ashley got her dress on, the sun started to shine! After a quick first look with the father of the bride, Ashley & Jimmy met at LaSalle bridge for their first look.

Ashley & Jimmy wanted something low key and truly unique. Both boxes checked by having the ceremony and reception at the Untitled Supper Club also in River North. This venue gives you an old Chicago feel with a secret entrance, library, velvet booths, and a wall with over 500 whiskey collection.

Congratulations Ashley & Jimmy! It’s been a privilege to capture your story from the beginning, thank you for having us!

A big part of Meghan and Joe’s wedding day was travel time but well worth it as they both had the opportunity to incorporate all of their special places. Not to mention more time on a party bus is always welcomed by any wedding party! Meghan started her day at their new place while Joe started his day at his parents’ home in Morton grove, a short walk to their church, St Martha Catholic Church. After the ceremony (and an important stop at CVS), we headed to some photo spots along the Chicago river and a must have picture at the Board of Trade for Joe. The rest of the photos and reception took place at the best view of the Chicago skyline, the Adler Planetarium. This is truly a dream wedding venue for most. We took advantage of some sunset moments and finished it off with some night skyline pictures.

Some cool details… Meghan and Joe’s wedding were full of east coast guests so you can imagine the plentiful sports talk/tensions. But they did cater to a NY style reception timeline of which every important portion is broken up by dancing to make them feel at home. A collection of rocks were used for guests’ well wishes, always a cool alternative to the guest book. They displayed photo frames of entire wedding party highlighting each member. Their first dance was perfectly timed with the sunset. Very fitting for the venue!

Congratulations to Meghan and Joe! The two of you are so much fun to be around which shows throughout the photos. Thank you for having LOP!!!

January weddings in Chicago is a dice roll. It’s likely going to be frigid cold with a chance of a blizzard or polar vortex. But not this day. The sun came out and provided above freezing temps and which made for a delightful wedding day for Erin and Joel.

The day started with lots of laughs and tears at the Westin Michigan Ave. After a gift exchange, we headed off to the ceremony at St Clement in Lincoln Park, one of the most beautiful churches in Chicago. We managed to catch a little bit of natural light in Lincoln Park afterwards but being that it’s winter, the rest of the photos had to be shot in the dark. We did manage to get a few romantic images by the Chicago River. Being surrounded by skyline lighting really helps and makes for some dramatic images. The party finished up at Architectural Artifacts in Chicago’s Lakeview neighborhood. It’s our first time in this venue and it was certainly a treat! The entire place is filled with interesting artifacts which you could browse for hours as a guest.

Some cool details… Erin wore red shoes to match with Joel’s red socks. Joel gave Erin a Minion, the best gifts are the ones with meaning behind them. The girls had matching Uggs to battle the weather. They had an eclectic centerpiece theme, each table representing a location with unique displays. They incorporated the traditional Polish apron dance. They opted for a fun cupcake table instead of a traditional cake. Erin had a special handkerchief made for her mom and custom cuff links for her dad. But the biggest blend of details would be their the elements in their venue, Atrium Events. The guests enjoyed all the eye candy!

Congratulations to Erin & Joel, as always, we are thankful to be there to record all the fun moments of your day!

The Beatles believe that all you need is love. While that may be true, respect and admiration can make love even sweeter. Admiration is a word that comes to mind when you see photos of Sarah and Eric looking at one another. Our favorite is one where Eric is staring at Sarah when her father was getting ready to hand her off to Eric. It’s as if she’s the only thing that existed.

You can witness more of this on their first look photos of which started just outside JW Marriott Chicago, where they got ready for the day. As most wedding timelines go, we were running a bit late but made the most of the time we had. Photo stops took place by the Wrigley Building on Michigan avenue and Lincoln Park. But of course, the “main course” for photos took place at a very exclusive spot, the staircase at The Rookery Building. This is one of our top 3 favorite venues so it was certainly a treat for us as you can tell with how magnificent the backdrop is. The ceremony and reception all took place at The Rookery as well.

Some cool little details… The bridesmaids had matching robes to start the day off with something cute and fun. The guys sported suspenders which the bride loved and made as focus points in most photos. Check out their wedding cake topped with the word love. Small, yet made so perfectly to accent the space. “Simple and Elegant” is a description used many many times but only few can really pull it off perfectly, and Sarah & Eric really pulled it off well. Lastly, when attending a wedding, never approach a bride with a drink in your hand. It’s just not a good idea. Good thing Sarah is a trooper and all about being laid back and having fun on her special day.

Congrats guys and thanks for having LOP!

It goes without saying that your wedding day is a very special day. But for this wedding, it was also a special day for the father of the bride because the wedding ceremony and reception took place at the Adler Planetarium, a Chicago spot that’s special to both the bride and her father.

Preparations took place at the Westin Chicago River North. For Ryann, there were 2 first looks. The first with her groom Chad above the Chicago River, witnessed by many “passer by’s” but as you can see by the photo, they were all alone in their own emotional space. The second first look took place at the ceremony as her father did not want to see her until she walked down the aisle. You can also feel his “first look” reaction in one of the photos.

We had an adventurous photo schedule and also ran late throughout the day with the massive amount of tourists gridlocking the city. But we do have many photos to show for, starting at the Chicago River, a stop at Olive Park, and one “off the beaten path” stop at their Wrigley Field rooftop condo. We finished the evening with a breathtaking Navy Pier fireworks show.

Some cool details… They had a must-see floating escort card display which also lit up individually. The guests had a blast as they entered the reception area. The groomsmen sported new matching watches and the bridesmaids also had matching bracelets.

Congratulations Ryann & Chad! It was an honor and so much fun to witness your day as it had many special moments throughout. Thanks for having us!

A special thank you to Vanessa from Food For Thought for their hospitality and helping the event run smoothly.

Lauren & Ronnie had a small wedding party and smaller than average guest count. But everything about their wedding felt big! And that’s mainly due to the tight-knit family and friends that celebrated with them on their big day.

The day started off wet and rainy but not in spirit. There was nothing but smiles and tears of joy as Lauren & Ronnie got ready at JW Chicago Marriott as they stared down at a rainy downtown street. Lauren left with an umbrella, and arrived at church in a ray of sunshine. The ceremony took place at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Chicago’s Wrigleyville neighborhood. We then headed off on a photo safari to North Ave Beach, Chicago Board of Trade, and Fulton Market. The much anticipated reception took place at Room 1520, a very cool urban venue in the Fulton Market neighborhood.

A big congrats to Lauren & Ronnie for such an awesome day! From the engagement session to the wedding day, you guys are awesome to be around and we will miss not having your wedding to look forward to anymore. But we look forward to seeing your family grow in the future. Thanks for having us! BTW, check out their awesome Engagement Session.

Some vendors worth mentioning… Blu Couture Films was a pleasure to work with and they are uber talented. Please check them out! We’ve shot hundreds of weddings by now and this is the first time that I can truly say that “this band rocks”. If you’re looking for a band, check out The Empty Pockets. Best band we’ve ever heard at a wedding!

Lindsay & Chris are one of the most caring couples you’ll meet and their careers are a testament to that. They tended to everyone around them while it should have been the other way around on their special day. The day started off with a first meet and a very emotional one at that. After all, these two have known each other since before high school and have been with each other for a long time.

We had some major traffic obstacles to deal with throughout the day; Friday rush hour, The Taste of Chicago, and Bon Jovi. But in the end all that really mattered was a sunset ceremony coupled with some nice sunset photos to complement their sunset engagement.

The ceremony was followed by a cocktail reception at the Clark Family Welcome Gallery while the beautiful Café Galileo’s, where the ceremony was held, was transformed into trendy party space.

Lindsay & Chris had plenty of awesome details as you can see but one that stood out most.… she had a brooch bouquet similar to Miranda Lambert’s. In fact it was made by the same person at The Ritzy Rose! How cool is that and wow, the bouquet looked amazing! She also had a delightful cupcake tower from Forever More Cupcakes

Congratulations Lindsay & Chris and thank you for letting us hang out with you for your big day and treating us like friends!
