Jonathan’s “preparation” turned into more of a celebration with close family and friends at his Father’s place. Maria began the day at her place also with close family, just a short ride to the ceremony at St Charles Borromeo in Bensenville. It didn’t take long for it to become an emotional ceremony as tears began pouring as soon as the bride walks down the isle.

Being that it’s Chicago and it’s December, it was certainly a challenge to find good photo spots. But Maria came up with an excellent plan of securing an hour at the Mayslake Peabody Estate which was also conveniently in Oak Brook, just a short drive to the reception venue at Drury Lane Theatre in Oak Brook Terrace. Chicago weather delivered and it was icy and painfully cold outside. So we ended up indoors but had a ton of fun exploring and taking photos inside Mayslake Peabody Estate. It forced us to be creative and also made for some dramatic backdrops. We have to give all the credit to Maria for coming up with this idea!

Some cool & fun details… The kids out-muscled the adults during the garter toss, there’s a few must-see photos. The guys wore Mickey cuff links. The guests were treated to a something different on the dancefloor, a piano duel Felix And Fingers, not your typical band or DJ! See more details on our FB Page!

Congratulations Maria & Jonathan! We know the experience in finding the right photographer was hard so we appreciate you taking a chance in LOP!

Beautiful people – two words that come to mind when thinking about our experience with Ami & Keyur’s wedding. During long hours of photography, Michelle and I sometimes count down the hours because our bodies are just waiting to collapse. But that wasn’t the case this weekend. Their families’ welcoming warmth gave us energy and we never felt tired throughout the weekend. Being around such friendly people really makes life experiences that much more worthwhile.

Ami & Keyur’s entire day took place at Drury Lane Theatre in Oak Brook Terrace. We had some bad weather the entire day which pushed some outdoor events inside but that didn’t stop the excitement during the Baraat or Viddai as Keyur made a grand entrance at the Baraat in a Lamborghini Gallardo.

Some cool details… the wedding party helped with some creative “Thank You” photos and we’ll try not to spoil it for the guests and avoid being descriptive. Ami & Keyur had a cute “first look” as they read each other’s letter with each back towards the other. They had Ami/Keyur shaped cookie favors. The bridal party received thumb drives customized to fit each one’s personality. Keyur may have had a grand entrance with his Lambo but the ring bearers rolled in on a Ferrari! We can’t forget to mention, both families love to dance so everyone got in a special dance number, which was easily the highlight of the evening. There’s so much more to list but we’ll just let everyone enjoy the photos and see for themselves.

Congratulations Ami & Keyur! We’re so grateful you chose us to be your photographers. It was a joy getting to know your friends and family and getting to witness your amazing weekend. Thank you!

Once in a while we’re blessed with shooting a “laid back” wedding which is sometimes a nice break from the hustle and bustle of big downtown weddings. Allison & Travis began the day at Hilton Chicago Oak Brook Suites in Villa Park which is just steps away from their ceremony and reception site, Drury Lane Theatre in Oak Brook Terrace.

The main struggle with a suburban wedding is the limited locations for photos but we were able to take advantage of a beautiful spot, Graue Mill and Museum just minutes away in Oak Brook. As you can see, it made for a nice and quiet backdrop for a first look and we also managed to get a couple of nice portraits.

Some memorable moments… FOB surprised the bride with her own personal limo for the ride to her first look with Travis. A friend of the groom played hero as he ran the FOG’s tie back to men’s warehouse to get it re-stitched (every wedding has unsung heroes). Travis’ beard was mentioned maybe 100 times during the speeches. How about the indoor bubble exit! First time for us and it made for some great photos! And last thing we have to mention… there was some great Chicago House music played at this wedding. Kudos to who ever created the playlist!

Congratulations Allison & Travis! Thanks for having us take photos of your most important day!
