While Robert and his groomsmen started the day at the Courtyard Marriott in Arlington Heights, Stephanie and her bridesmaid got ready at home with plenty of smiles and energy to go around. Stephanie has long admired the old charm of downtown Long Grove so it was only fitting to have their ceremony at the Long Grove Community Church. The reception wasn’t too far way, taking place at Concorde Banquets in Kildeer.

But before all of that, the bride & groom had their first look in downtown Long Grove as well, just outside The Chatter Box where the boys enjoyed some drinks and games just before the first look. We continued to take some classic photos on the historic 111-year old downtown Long Grove Bridge. Being that it’s January in Chicago, the temperature was a torturing single digit with winds below zero! So we took refuge in a nearby antique shop Scout and Forge. Thank you so much Matt & Meg for opening up your doors and letting us use your shop for some cool rustic photos.

Some cool & fun details… Robert and his groomsmen started the day with a beer pong table which somehow ended up at the cocktail hour at Concorde. Since 2016 was finally the Cubs’ year, it was only fitting for the bride to fly the W flag during the introductions while the groom wore the championship hat. The “ring security” team used mini treasure boxes instead of the traditional pillow. Stephanie & Robert had a mini sparkler send off at the end of the nigh with their wedding party. Congratulations Stephanie & Robert! Thank you for trusting us with your most important day!

Jonathan’s “preparation” turned into more of a celebration with close family and friends at his Father’s place. Maria began the day at her place also with close family, just a short ride to the ceremony at St Charles Borromeo in Bensenville. It didn’t take long for it to become an emotional ceremony as tears began pouring as soon as the bride walks down the isle.

Being that it’s Chicago and it’s December, it was certainly a challenge to find good photo spots. But Maria came up with an excellent plan of securing an hour at the Mayslake Peabody Estate which was also conveniently in Oak Brook, just a short drive to the reception venue at Drury Lane Theatre in Oak Brook Terrace. Chicago weather delivered and it was icy and painfully cold outside. So we ended up indoors but had a ton of fun exploring and taking photos inside Mayslake Peabody Estate. It forced us to be creative and also made for some dramatic backdrops. We have to give all the credit to Maria for coming up with this idea!

Some cool & fun details… The kids out-muscled the adults during the garter toss, there’s a few must-see photos. The guys wore Mickey cuff links. The guests were treated to a something different on the dancefloor, a piano duel Felix And Fingers, not your typical band or DJ! See more details on our FB Page!

Congratulations Maria & Jonathan! We know the experience in finding the right photographer was hard so we appreciate you taking a chance in LOP!

Shauna began her day at her sister’s home not to far from where the ceremony took place at St. Raymond de Penafort Parish in Mount Prospect. There were many little bride-to-be’s watching Shauna prepare for her big day which made for some cute photos. Anthony started his day at the reception venue, The Glen Club in Glenview.

There were many tiny intimate moments between Shauna & Anthony especially during the ceremony which a few we captured. You can tell that these two are truly made for each other. We were running a bit short on time between the ceremony and reception but we were able to sneak in some fun photos at a nearby Glenview Park and topped it off with some breathtaking sunset photos at The Glen.

Some cool details… While The Glen Club doesn’t need much dressing up, Yanni Design Studio did an amazing job with decor. It was a nature theme with lots of greens and wood accents which worked well together along with the menu, escort cards, and table signs all blending with the theme. Guests enjoyed late night sliders and pretzel treats along with an ice cream sundae bar. Shauna & Anthony also showed off their engagement photos with a nice guestbook. You can check out their Engagement Photos here. See more of the amazing details on our FB Page!

Congratulations Shauna & Anthony! We know how important photography is to you so we thank you for trusting us with your most important day!

Once in a while we get extra lucky and take part in something that breaks the mold. You meet a couple that wants to get away from the expectations of a big city wedding and just wants to be surrounded by close family to share and celebrate what truly matters. When we read about what Julie & Kevin were planning, we hoped and crossed our fingers that we would be included in their plans and so we were.

Julie & Kevin planned for a sunset beach wedding on a private property in New Buffalo Michigan. The day stated off with strong storms off an on throughout the day. With the weather uncertainty, they began setting up for an indoor ceremony in the dining room. When I arrived, I gave a little nudge to wait just a few minutes, as the storm had a slight chance to pass and it would be a shame to not have what they had dreamed for (plus I drove 2 hours through the storms and refuse to come home empty handed). Sure enough, the sun started shining and gave us a beautiful sunset along with rainbows for about an hour, just enough to have a short ceremony and beach photos. How magical is that!

Not having enough time to move the ceremony to the beach, the chairs were quickly set up on the deck overlooking Lake Michigan. After a beautiful sunset ceremony, we headed to the beach for some photos with the bride and groom and their daughters. And we have to say, this time frame and conditions is what most photographers wish for. As you can see, all their photos are simply amazing. Right after the rainbow shot, we had to sprint back through the sands as the storms came right back. Thank you weather gods for allowing us an hour of pure magic to realize Julie & Kevin’s dream wedding.

Congratulations Julie & Kevin! And thank you for choosing Life On Prints to capture your very special day!

While Mark started his day at their new home, Liz got ready at her parents’ home, which has become familiar to us. After 2 weddings, there are now 4 new adorable faces competing for photo attention with the bride-to-be. The ceremony took place at St Jude Catholic Church in New Lenox, one of our favorite churches with lots of space and light to work with. Both wedding party photos and the reception took place at Mistwood Golf Club in Romeoville. Liz was very excited to share her venue choice with us, as she knew we would very much appreciate its characteristics. And she was right! This venue was rustic with a touch of urban on the inside and was gorgeously designed on the outside for photos. Liz and Mark also did a great job dressing up the room with just the right amount of decor, letting its natural beauty do most of the work.

It was a VERY windy and cold day which made it a bit of a struggle to get good photos having to fight the wind and trying to catch everyone looking comfortable. But we had a lot of help from the bride & groom. Liz has this bright contagious smile that automatically cheers you up complemented by Mark’s cool and laid back presence. No matter how windy and cold, the entire wedding party were all laughs and very much enjoyed the short photo shoot. Thanks everyone for just enjoying the day regardless of conditions.

Some cool details… The bride and groom opted for the head table to be bare, showing its elegant wood finish to complement the centerpiece; their cake, standing atop a custom wine barrel built by the groom himself. The famous photo frame card box made its round, hopefully not the last time. The groom has something we’ve never seen before, a black rubber wedding ring to fit his work background. Guests were treated to a late night spread of sliders and mini hot dogs (always makes guests happy). So glad to see a guestbook with their engagement photos! If you’ve never seen them, check out their Engagement Photos here, one of our absolute favorites with its unique location.

Bitter sweet… It’s the last wedding for this family and we are so very honored and lucky to be part of every single one of them. You have all been so warm and welcoming and such a joy to photograph. So thank you so very much for letting us be a part of it all from the bottom of our hearts! Congratulations Liz & Mark! – Michelle & Tony

Joanne & Brian were blessed with a gorgeous day for a wedding. The day began at one of the best hotels in O’Hare area, Loews Hotel Rosemont. After an emotional first look with the father of the bride, we headed into some light traffic heading into the city for the ceremony at St. Viator Parish. In an attempt to deviate from the usual Rosemont photo spots, we found a hidden gem in Park Ridge area (after a previous family shoot scouting), which provided an amazing backdrop during the golden hour. We finished off photos inside Loews which had some nice contemporary decor.

Some fun details…Joanne gave her junior bridesmaids a custom messaged handkerchief as their “something old” for their future wedding. A Cubs vs Sox “House Divided” flag greeted the guests in the lobby. The guests were also greeted by vintage family wedding photos from the past. You can see more of their highlights & details on our Facebook Page.

Congratulations to Joanne & Brian! We thank you for giving us the privilege to document your big day!

Both Lauren and Michael prepared for their big day at nearby Eaglewood Resort in Itasca. The ceremony was also a short drive away at St. Isidore in Bloomingdale. While it’s tradition to have a long limo-bus ride to the reception (for a per-party sort of speak), the bride & groom couldn’t wait to get to their reception venue. And who can blame them! The Medinah Country Club is magnificent in every way, inside and out. Both sides of the family came in big numbers which made for a memorable and fun evening.

Some fun details…Lauren and her bridesmaids had personalized Starbucks cups to start the day. Lauren & Michael spared no expense treating their guests to a huge desert spread. Lauren surprised Michael with a Northwestern University groom’s cake.

Congratulations to Lauren & Michael! Hope to see everyone again in the near future!

You can dress up a wedding as much as you want but at the end of it all, the only thing that really matters is that you’re surrounded by people that you love and genuinely love you back. This creates an entire day full of authentic moments that you’ll remember for life. (And of course you need an awesome photographer to document these moments =) April & Dylan’s wedding was exactly that. It reminded us of why we love what we do.

Their entire day took place at our most favorite venue, the Armour House in Lake Forest. While we try to convince most couples to do a “first look” to take advantage of more photo time, April & Dylan decided they wanted their first look to be in tact for the isle. We did sacrifice more wedding party photos but got some very emotional ceremony photos in return. We did make sure to have enough bride & groom photo time as well.

Some fun details…April & Dylan displayed old wedding photos of their parents and even took photos with them, one of our favorite details, we love seeing old wedding photos. One of their close friends sang their first dance song which just melted everyone’s hearts, not a dry eye on the dance floor. April changed to an amazing red dress to finish off the celebration. They had a perfect sparkler send off, with the entire wedding participating and timed perfectly at dusk with the dark blue skies. Lots more to see so just go check out their gallery on our Facebook Page.

Congrats Sarah & Anthony! Thank you for having us around your adventure of a day!

Sarah & Anthony certainly had a huge day with lots of big plans throughout!

Preparations began at Hilton Chicago with a spectacular view of the lakefront and Grant Park. The first look took place on Hilton’s rooftop pool deck to start the day. Running late is not unusual as you know with weddings so we had to cut some photo stops but we still made the top locations on their list. First stop was a short walk to Grant Park for some natural backgrounds. Anthony is a huge Chicago Bears fan so they found a unique wedding photo spot at the Winter Garden next to Soldier Field, very fitting for Anthony but was certainly painful for Greenbay Packer fans in the family. We then hopped back on the trolley for Adler Planetarium for the signature Chicago skyline photo.

The ceremony and reception took place at Northerly Island, a very special place to Sarah & Anthony where they spend most of their free time. We also took some amazing engagement photos at their ceremony spot which you can see here.

Some fun details…Absolutely nothing was spared for Sarah & Anthony’s arrival. The entire wedding party went beyond the traditional trolley and hopped on a yacht from Burnham Harbor to Notherly Island. Sarah was then taken on a horse carriage from Northerly Island’s dock to their ceremony spot overlooking the Chicago skyline with such a unique vantage point. In another unique fashion, Sarah & Anthony chose to have ring tattoos, doing a fist bump in place of a ring exchange. Snoopy, a big part of Sarah & Anthony’s family took part in the ceremony. Perhaps one of the most unforgettable part of the ceremony would be Steely Dan‘s timing on their sound check which took place just yards away. While their sound check was overpowering at times, their song selections during sound check certainly timed well within the ceremony timeline. Fun & unforgettable! Their cake was a Stanley Cup replica laced with important names and meaningful words. There’s just too much to write about so just go check out their gallery on our Facebook Page.

Congrats Sarah & Anthony! Thank you for having us around your adventure of a day!

You see that old bench? That’s no ordinary bench. That’s the bench Jennifer & Robert first laid eyes on each other many years ago back when she was a freshman and he was a senior at Lane Tech High School. And on the morning of their wedding day, they decided to meet at the exact spot where it all began. And we can’t really write anything further to top that!

After a few photos around Lane Tech campus, which is very photogenic by the way, we headed out to Nicholas J. Melas Centennial Fountain in downtown Chicago’s Riverwalk where Robert proposed to Jennifer. Not only are their photo location choices unique, but they truly have meaning behind their story. The ceremony and reception took place at South Branch which flanks the Chicago River in the loop area and set the stage for spectacular skyline views both during the outdoor ceremony and reception.

Some fun details…Jennifer & Robert displayed their prom photo next to a current photo, so much fun for the guests to see. They also included other prom accessories with the display. This was important as Robert recreated prom night for Jennifer. While we took photos on Monroe bridge, Jennifer unexpectedly threw her bouquet over the river to boaters cheering them on. Thankfully, we got a shot as she threw. The sad news is no one caught it. Still, great unscripted memories to look back to. You can see more of their highlights & details on our Facebook Page.

Congratulations Jennifer & Robert! We’re thankful you chose us to document such a special day and witnessing your wonderful story. Thank you for having LOP!
